As planned, we organized a 2nd virtual meetup last Saturday. We had a group of 30+ attendees from Egypt, Europe, and the USA.
Aliaa El Shabrawy (@Cleobatta) kickstarted the meetup by talking to us about Storytelling and Data. If you missed the meetup, don’t worry, you still can watch the recorded version of the talk on Youtube.
Unfortunately, we didn’t record the rich Q&A segment that followed the talk. Maybe next time we can fix that. For those of you who were asking about the references mentioned during and after the talk, Aliaa built this list for you.
After the talk, we split our group of 30+ attendees into 4 groups (using Zoom’s breakout rooms) to allow for more personal discussions. Some of the topics discussed among these groups were:
How do you explain what you do to your parents?
Would CPT3 and AI replace tech workers in the near future?
Did COVID19 kill tech worker’s chance to relocate to other countries?
and many other topics ..
After the breakout rooms segment of our event was done, we continued for an extra 90 minutes of open chats. That part was not planned, but why not if we are already there with a big group of interesting people.
Overall, the meetup this time was a success. It even showed clearly in the feedback survey that we asked our attendees to fill.
